That’s the word from Dr. John Eickholt, who’s a medical director at the Worthington Sleep Wake Center in Ohio . He says 30 minutes of extra rest each night gives your body more time to recuperate and repair itself from the stress of a long day. This improves your immune system – which means you’ll be less likely to get sick.
3. And a final tip to improve your health: Worry every day. I know it sounds odd, but according to psychologist Dr. Eugene Baker, bottling up your worries actually causes you more stress! Why? Because you’re trying so hard not to think about your problems, that you actually end up thinking about them more than if you had just worried about them in the first place. So schedule 10 minutes every day as your ‘worry time.’ Think about all the things that are bothering you, and decide whether there’s anything you can do to solve your problems. Your daily ‘worry time’ gives you a chance to get things off your chest, and that’ll reduce stress.
