1. What did you want to be when you grew up?
I wanted to be a horse trainer, but I did not have a barn of a horse of my own to start this business. Then I wanted to be a football coach and that was not cool in the 70s. So I ended up training children and coaching soccer.
2. How did you help out around the house?
I hated to take naps so during my nap time, I would make up the bed, tear it apart and then remake it over and over again. Does that qualifies for helping around the house?
3. What were you most afraid of?
Getting spanked for getting caught doing something to my older brother. He always picked on me and when I finally retaliated, my mom would catch me and not him.
4. Who was your first crush?
Willard Haithcock...I was 5 and he was in college...I followed him like a puppy at the Lake Club in the summers. I cried when he got married, but he said that he married a girl named Nancy since he couldn't marry me.
5. What childhood story do family and friends still tease you about?
My brother...yes, the one that caused me to get whippings... and I were playing hide and seek in the yard. I was hiding behind an oil tank and he yelled "BOO" and I jumped banging my head into the tank. I had stitches and still have a scar. He still likes to say "BOO" to me.
6. Which family vacation was your favorite?
We camped at Lake James a lot. One summer we camped the week of July 4th. It was so cold that we couldn't even swim, but we had so much fun. We played records (that's like CDs for you young things!) and rode in the boat wrapped up in a pink blanket.
7. What did you do in the summer time?
Stayed on the lake...swimming, skiing, and camping.
8. What did your childhood bedroom look like?
It was pink with lots of beautiful dolls. My mother never had dolls when she was little so Santa always brought me the most popular ones for Christmas.
9. As a child, what was your greatest talent?
I learned to water ski when I was 5, and I won a lot of blue ribbons showing horses.
10. What was the nicest thing your parents ever did for you? Love me.
