I just adore thinking about my childhood....
1. What did I want to be when I grew up?
A stay at home mom, with an immaculate house, clean children, and a hunky husband...one out of three ain't bad. I'll let you wonder which one that is.
2. How did I help out around the house?
What didn't I do??? We were raised on a farm...we had 300 hogs, 50 chickens, 45 head of cattle, various dogs and cats. We raised tobacco, corn, and had the biggest garden you've ever seen. The only thing I can remember NOT doing was driving the tractor....my brothers always did that.
3. What was I most afraid of?
Getting caught not doing my chores....mother always made us go get our own switch!
4. Who was your first crush?
Jennings
5. What childhood story do family still tease me about?
When I was a little kid and we had company, we liked to play hide-n-go-seek, tag, red rover, and after dark we liked to sit on the porch steps and tell spooky stories to one another. My family still tease me because I would ask them to tell another "pooty story".
6. Which family vacation was your favorite?
We never took many, but one year when I was about 13 years old, my dad took all of us (10 people, 8 kids, mother, and daddy) to the beach. We stayed with family, but my oh my, what a lot of water!
7. What did you do in the summertime?
Mostly we worked in the garden and tobacco patch....if you know anything about tobacco, you know it's a year-round job that is most disagreeable.
8. What did your childhood bedroom look like?
Our attic was converted into a long room with nooks built into the walls for beds. The boys bed was first and a curtain separated the girls area. This room was not insulated so it was very cold in the winter and very hot in the summer.
9. As a child, what was your greatest talent?
Sketching....I always loved drawing and giving the drawings away. In 1st grade I gave my teacher, Mrs. Felts, a drawing of a giraffe....I found it that afternoon in the trash can! Needless to say, SHE never got another of my works of art!
10. What was the nicest thing your parents ever did for you?
The nicest thing they did for me was to raise me in church, and teach me the basic principals of the Bible. They lived what they taught and I will always be grateful for the hard work, discipline, and self control they portrayed all through their lives.
