Jacob has a low tolerance for excitement, it seems. Having ear infections doesn’t help, I’m sure, but the whining and “He’s cheating!” screeches wear on my nerves. He and Eric are napping, and the patter of the falling rain and Josh’s voice online are all I hear. Peaceful. But only for a short while! I love this child with all of my soul, but on days like today, I long for the days before he came to us, when we were in our groove, and there was quiet “me” time whenever I wanted it. “Us” time is food for my soul, but I do long for quiet time to read a book, watch a film, scrapbook…..so many things to look forward to again. Some day.
